We Are
Hirundo Energy
Hirundo Lesotho is developing a wind farm in Mohale’s Hoek comprising 12 turbines, each with a capacity of 5 MW. Once completed, it will produce around 140 GWh annually approximately 15% of Lesotho’s electricity needs. We’re here to help diversify the national energy mix, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and spark local economic development. Our approach is community-first: we lease land from communities, train local talent, and build together.

CEO Message
"At Hirundo Energy, we believe Lesotho’s greatest resource is its people and the wind that sweeps across our highlands. Every turbine we raise at Mohale’s Hoek and Masite Nek is more than hardware; it is a promise that clean, reliable power can uplift homes, ignite local enterprise, and safeguard our environment for generations to come.
Our journey is guided by four pillars: sustainability, equity, innovation, and collaboration. We protect the land that sustains us; we ensure communities share directly in the value we create; we pursue smarter technologies that put renewable energy within everyone’s reach; and we work hand-in-hand with partners near and far. Together, we have already set in motion projects capable of meeting a quarter of Lesotho’s electricity needs and we are just getting started.
To our host communities, investors, employees, and friends: thank you for placing your trust in us. Your support fuels our mission to power Lesotho with home-grown clean energy. I invite you to stay engaged, hold us accountable, and join us as we build a brighter, greener, and more inclusive future for all."
